There is a Heat Advisory in effect for parts of the Carolinas on Friday.
For the WCCB Charlotte area this includes Stanly, Anson and Richmond counties. Advisory or not for your county, it is going to be HOT! Expect heat indices between 100-105 degrees. Stay safe and cool. Don’t forget about your pets!
The National Weather Service recommends taking the following precautions to prevent injuries and illness during periods of extreme heat:
- Drink plenty of water
- Limit outdoor activities
- Wear lightweight and light-colored clothing
- Wear sunscreen
- Work outdoors early or very late in the day when temperatures are cooler
