Raccoon Tests Positive For Rabies In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A rabies alert was sent out to residents on or near Guilford Road in Charlotte at 7 p.m. after a raccoon tested positive for rabies, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control.

Officials say there were no human exposures and potentially one domestic animal was exposed.

This is the 8th animal in 2021 to test positive for rabies in Mecklenburg County.
