CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Troopers are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run with a pedestrian on I-77 southbound in Mecklenburg County.
On Sunday, July 25th around 9 p.m., troopers say a woman was struck by a car while standing close to the roadway on I-77 near Tyvola Road.
Police say before she was struck, the woman was involved in a two-vehicle collision while traveling south on the roadway.
Troopers say she had exited her vehicle to talk to the other driver involved in the collision, when she was stuck by another passing vehicle traveling south on I-77.
The vehicle did not stop after striking the woman, police say.
At this time, police say they do not have any further evidence or video of the collision.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the second collision to call 911 immediately.
