Charlotte City Council To Vote On Updates To Non-Discrimination Ordinance Next Monday
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte city leaders are one step closer to passing updates to the city’s non-discrimination ordinance.
The additions protect people from discrimination, in part, based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and natural hairstyles.
After months of work behind the scenes, city leaders are moving with urgency.
They plan to vote and take public comment on Monday, August 9th.
The protections would not extend to allowing people to use the bathroom matching their gender identity.
That’s the provision Charlotte passed in 2016 that led state leaders to pass controversial House Bill 2.
