Edge On The Clock: London’s Famous Tower Bridge Gets Stuck In Open Position For 2nd Time In A Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – London’s famous Tower Bridge got stuck in its open position for the second time in a year due to a technical issue on Monday. It was opened up to let a wooden tall ship called The Tenacious pass. Needless to say, Twitter users couldn’t let the moment pass without a joke, saying things like, “Have they tried WD40?” And, “Tower Bridge just seemed a bit stuck up,” and “London Tower’s not coming down,” to the tune of London Bridge is Falling Down.

Plus, AMC is planning to start accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. The movie theater chain says it is rolling out technology that will allow customers to buy tickets and concessions using the cryptocurrency online. The company’s CEO says the same capability will allow AMC to accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.

And, one of the writers from the 2007 film I Am Legend is reacting to the vaccine-hesitant crowd of people who now believe that the COVID-19 vaccine could turn them into mutants. Akiva Goldsman tweeted a reminder that the plot is entirely fictional and re-iterated that the film is based on a novel about an attempt to make a measles virus into a cancer cure, that in the end turns people into zombie vampires. Goldsman said, “Oh. My. God. It’s a movie. I made that up. It’s. Not. Real.”
