CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte says they are cancelling the remaining performances of ROCK OF AGES and their production of HEAD OVER HEELS after some vaccinated members of their team tested positive for COVID-19.
Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte released the following statement:
Due to two breakthrough cases of COVID-19 in vaccinated individuals involved in ROCK OF AGES, the decision to cancel was made in the interest of the health and safety of the entire team and our audience, as well as the ongoing concern over the current rise in COVID-19 cases and the unknowns of the Delta variant.
As a fully vaccinated company, ATC wants to dedicate more appropriate time and resources to COVID safety and decided that it was too late to implement more advanced safety measures for HEAD OVER HEELS, which was slated to open on September 1st.
