Baucom will serve a lifetime of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender after he is released from prison, according to a news release.

Authorities say law enforcement became aware of an individual, later identified as Baucom, using the internet to download child pornography between December of 2017 to October of 2018.

During their investigation, officers conducted a search Baucom’s home in Charlotte and took his cell phone containing 58 videos and 950 images of child pornography.

Court records also show some of the images and videos contained identified victims of 40 different known series of child pornography.

In 2002, Baucom was convicted in Mecklenburg County of Indecent Liberties with a Child and was sentenced to a probationary term, which was later revoked for Baucom’s failure to register as a sex offender, according to a news release.

Authorities say Baucom plead guilty to receipt of child pornography on September 16th, 2020.

Baucom is currently in federal custody awaiting his transfer to his designated federal facility, according to a news release.
