Fred Flies Away, Summer Heat Returns
With Fred in the rear-view mirror, a classic summertime pattern re-establishes itself in the Carolinas.
After a messy day with over a dozen tornado warnings issued in the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, we’re happy to see a much calmer pattern return to the Carolinas as we close out the workweek. Expect highs to return to the 80s and 90s across the board as a classic summertime pattern sets up shop. Sunshine should dominate the Carolina skies and rain chances over the next three days should only come in the form of pop-up showers and storms during the afternoons. The generally stable pattern should remain around the area through next weekend.
Today: Mostly sunny. PM isolated storms. High: 90°. Wind: SW 5-10.
Tonight: Strong storms early, then scattered showers. Low: 74°. Wind: Light.
Thursday: Another hot one. Scattered afternoon storms. High: 90°. Wind: SW 5-10.
