Triple Digit Feels, Scattered Showers & Storms
Late day storms Thursday could add to flood concerns for Western North Carolina.
A weak disturbance will roll over the area late Thursday bringing a chance of showers and storms. A few could get strong and possibly severe but not everyone will experience rain or storms. Outside of that, a humid area of high pressure has set up shop over the Appalachians, keeping us hot and steamy with rain chances in the isolated range after today. Expect temperatures in the low 90s in the Foothills and Piedmont while the High Country tops out closer to 80. The heat and humidity will carry well into the final week of August.
