Temps Up, Storms Down
Storms will be few and far between but the heat and humidity aren't going anywhere.
Friday will be slightly cooler but real feels will still likely get to 95 around Charlotte. Expect scattered storms to build in during the afternoon and evening hours on Friday. Expect those to be spottier in nature than what rolled through early on Thursday night. Rain chances return to isolated coverage for the weekend. Next week looks hot and mainly dry with temps still above average in the 90s. If you’re planning to aerate and overseed, be prepared to do lots of watering!
Meanwhile, in the tropics Grace is expected to strengthen into a hurricane again before making a second landfall over the southern Mexican mainland. Tropical Storm Henri may buzz the Carolina coast as a low-end hurricane, but the biggest risk posed to the two states is a stronger rip current at the beach. Henri will then set its sights on the Northeast before turning back out to sea.
Friday: Spotty storms later. High: 90. Wind: N 5-10.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, humid. Isolated storm possible. High: 91
Sunday: Mostly Sunny. High: 92.
Monday: Sunny & Hot. High: 94.
