Western Carolina University Asst. Football Coach Dies of COVID Complications

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – An assistant football coach at Western Carolina University has died of COVID complications.

John Peacock was an offensive line coach for the Catamounts.

His fiancé posted on Facebook that he passed away Wednesday after being diagnosed last Saturday.

The University says Peacock was a selfless, hard worker, who will be sorely missed.

Funeral plans have not been announced.
