GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gastonia Police Department is investigating after a 17-year-old was shot and injured at a park Sunday evening.
Police officers responded to Lineberger Park, on East Garrison Boulevard, around 8:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. Responding officers learned that a 17-year-old boy had been shot while in the parking lot and that he had been taken to a local hospital by friends, according to a news release.
Police said that the suspect in this shooting has been described as a male with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and green shorts.
