CMPD: Missing 39-Year-Old Charlotte Man Found Dead In Virginia

A 39-year-old man who was reported missing from northeast Charlotte on Aug. 10 has been found dead in Virginia, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives with the Missing Person Unit said Monday that Brian Kemppainen was located and pronounced dead in Virginia. According to police, the preliminary investigation does not suspect foul play was involved in his death.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 39-year-old man who was last seen in northeast Charlotte last week.
Brian John Kemppainen was last seen around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, near his Wingmont Drive home. He is believed to be driving his black 2013 Harley-Davidson FLS Softtail Slim motorcycle with North Carolina license plate 6Z9083.
Kemppainen has been described as 6’1″ tall, weighing 200 pounds, with sandy colored hair and hazel eyes, according to police. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and khaki shorts.
Kemppainen’s family says this behavior is unusual for him and they are concerned for his well-being.
Anyone with information on Kemppainen’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
