Lil Nas X Wonders Why There’s No Outrage Over Tony Hawk’s Blood-Infused Skateboards
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Rapper Lil Nas X is speaking up about Tony Hawk’s new blood-infused painted skateboards. Nas X tweeted Wednesday night, “Now that Tony Hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? And maybe u were mad for some other reason?”
You may remember when Nas X teamed up with a company named Mischief to infuse the bubble of a Nike Air Max with red dye and Nas X’s blood. The shoe also featured a pentagram and had the Luke 10:18 scripture written on the side.
It caused a lot of controversy online and Nike issued a statement saying it did not authorize the production of the shoe.
Hawk teamed up with the water brand Liquid Death to create the blood-infused skateboards. They’ll sell for $500 each and they’ll only make 100 of them.
Our question of the night: does Lil Nas X have a point?
