FORT MILL, S.C. — Indian Land Intermediate School is going virtual due to a severe shortage of staff because of COVID-19.
School officials say since class began on August 16th, Indian Land Intermediate School has had about 40 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus among students and staff and 475 students and staff are out due to the virus.
Officials say since this number represents close to 50 percent of the school population, the school will transition to an online learning model for all students beginning Monday, August 30th until September 7th.
School officials say the safety of students and staff is their top priority, and tell parents that they will receive further information directly from their child’s teacher as they work through this transition.
Students will be expected to be back in the classroom beginning Tuesday, September 7th, according to a news release.
