Family, Friends React To Deadly I-85 Road Rage Shooting Of ‘Beloved’ Charlotte Man
The Latest (9/1/21):
A Charlotte family is grieving the loss of a 58-year-old man shot to death along I-85 over the weekend. Carleton Cartier was killed Saturday. CMPD calls it a case of road rage. 24-year-old Kevin Jordan is charged in his murder.
Cartier’s family and friends say he was going to a birthday party that afternoon, and they felt something was wrong when he didn’t show up. They say Cartier was loving, a computer wiz, and would help anyone in need. They aren’t sure what led up to the shooting, but they say Cartier would never hurt anyone.
“He was no threat. Carlton didn’t have guns, and he wasn’t that type of guy. Man, this is just bad,” says Oscar Dill, Cartier’s close friend.
Family and friends created a gofundme account to help with funeral expenses.
