On August 30th, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a welfare check on Rimer Road for a woman that did not show up to work and was not answering her phone.

Once at the scene, deputies say they found the woman, later identified as 58-year-old Robin Fink, dead in her home.

Shortly after this discovery, the Sheriff’s Office received another call from a nearby resident saying that an unknown white man showed up at their door and left their home through the woods.

Deputies set up an area perimeter and began a K-9 track, only to find Paul Kabusk in the woods.

Detectives say during their investigation they discovered Kabusk was responsible for the death of his mother, Robin Fink, and he was taken to the Cabarrus County Detention Center and charged with one count of 1st degree murder.

The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
