CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a series of break-ins on Quercus Cove Court.
On March 9th around 8:45 p.m., officers responded to Quercus Cove Court in reference to a break-in.
The victim in this case told officers that an unknown suspect entered her apartment and stole property within in.
On April 17th shortly before 2:30 a.m., officers once again responded to Quercus Cove Court in reference to a breaking and entering call for service.
When officers arrived, the victim in this case told them that an unknown suspect broke into her apartment without her consent.
Once inside, the victim claimed the suspect sexually assaulted her.
On July 23rd shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to Quercus Cove Court again in reference to an attempted breaking and entering call for service.
The victim in this case told officers that she was lying in bed when she heard her bedroom window open.
The victim said when she verbally confronted the suspect, he ran away.
On August 8th at 1 a.m., officers once again responded to Quercus Cove Court.
The victim in this case told officers she heard noises and saw that a window has been tampered with.
Once again when the victim made her presence known, the suspect ran away.
Detectives have since gathered information and physical evidence from each of these cases and determined the same suspect is responsible.
The suspect is described as a man with dark hair and brown skin that is medium to light-toned, and has an accent of an unknown origin.
In response to these recent break-ins, officers have increased their presence in southwest Charlotte through bike patrols and walking beats.
The public is encouraged to keep all doors and windows locked at all times and to use exterior lights.
Police say if you return home and find signs that a burglary has taken place, immediately go find a safe place and call 911.
The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
