CMPD: South Charlotte Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a woman was found dead in south Charlotte Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to Brookhill Road, off of South Tryon Street, around 2 p.m. after receiving a call to assist medic with reports of someone in need of medical attention. Upon arrival, officers located a female who was pronounced dead at the scene by medic.

“As is standard procedure for any sudden or unexpected death, the CMPD’s Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence,” police said in a news release.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
