CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a 31-year-old security guard with sexually assaulting a juvenile while on duty.
Police said David Logan Marsh was working as a security officer for G4S Monday when he transported a juvenile patient with an Involuntary Commitment Order from a medical center in Rowan County to another medical facility in Charlotte.
According to police, Marsh allegedly sexually assaulted the victim during transport. The juvenile victim disclosed the incident to a medical professional and the Crimes Against Children Unit responded to conduct the investigation.
Marsh voluntarily spoke with detectives Wednesday at the Law Enforcement Center. After the interview, Marsh was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with statutory rape greater than 6 years, statutory sex offense, two counts of sexual activity by a custodian, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child, police said.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
