Recycling Facility In Charlotte Catches Fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A recycling center in Uptown Charlotte caught on fire on Friday after a gas tank exploded, officials with the Charlotte Fire Department say.

Fire officials say a smoke plume was visible Friday morning after several explosions were heard in the area due to gas tanks inside the pile on fire.

The fire at the facility, located on Atando Avenue, has since been contained and officials say no one was injured.
