Medical Experts Weigh In On Nicki Minaj’s Tweets About COVID Vaccine
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Rapper Nicki Minaj is firing back at people who have criticized her for tweeting about her vaccine hesitancy. On Monday the 38-year-old tweeted an anecdote about why her cousin’s friend will not get vaccinated, claiming that it caused swelling to his genitals.
CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta addressed that misinformation on air, saying, “People are going to read about that, vaccine causing orchitis or inflamed testicles. That’s not a thing. That’s not something to worry about.”
Minaj also tweeted and emphasized that she caught COVID after preparing for the VMAs and shooting a video, and says she did not want to put her newborn in harm’s way. She also clarified that she did not tell anyone that they should not get vaccinated.
Our question of the night: will Nicki’s tweets hurt or help her career?
