CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives are investigating a fatal collision in west Charlotte after the driver of an Audi hit a Honda Civic killing both the driver and passenger inside on Friday.

Officers responded to the collision on Wilkinson Boulevard around 9 p.m. to find a gray 2020 Audi Q3 SUV and a white 2006 Honda Civic with severe damage in the roadway.

The driver of the Honda, 32-year-old Rodney Grier, and his passenger, 37-year-old Emanuel Jackson, were found dead at the scene, according to a news release.
