Rain Chances Going Up

AM Headlines
  • Patchy AM Fog
  • Muggy Start to October
  • Scattered Showers/Possible Storms through the Week
It’s another mild start with temps in the 60s across the region. A few scattered showers remain for the mountains with patchy fog throughout the region. Expect another round of scattered showers and even a pop of thunder or two through this afternoon with highs once again reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s. Overnight lows will remain about 10 degrees above average through the remainder of the week. Scattered showers and storms will return midday Wednesday.
Late Week Through Saturday
Late in the week expecting the best chance for heavy rain across the region. Rainfall totals will generally be 1-3″, but some areas across the higher elevations and into the foothills could receive up to 4-5″. Flash flooding threat still remains low, but it will be something to watch Thursday into Friday. This soggy pattern will begin to break down in time for the weekend, however, a disturbance in the Atlantic will provide another blast of moisture to the area fueling more rain and storms Saturday.
Sunday into Early Next Week
Late Sunday into Monday, we will begin to dry out with temps climbing a few degrees above average into the upper 70s. High pressure will take control of the area. This means more sunshine and less humidity as rain chances dwindle.
