Discussion:
Increased fire danger again today. The potential for a few stronger gusts and relative humidity levels dropping to less than 30% will elevate the wildfire risk. North Carolina Statewide burn ban continues until we get rain back in the forecast. We’re going to be remaining dry through next week. Highs will reach the low 70s today under mostly sunny skies. Temps will continue to warm with well above average and potential record-breaking highs in the forecast Friday. A series of cold fronts will bring cooler temps to the region Sunday into Monday, with highs still slightly above average in the mid-60s. Another front Tuesday into Wednesday will bring some much-needed rain to the region. We will have to watch for potential icy weather in the mountains early Wednesday. We’ll have a better idea of that setup after the weekend.
