Football Player Antonio Brown Versus Football Coach Bruce Arians: Whose Side Are You On?
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Antonio Brown is firing back at Tampa Bay Bucs head coach after officially being from released from the team. On Thursday, Brown took Instagram, to post texts he says are with head coach Bruce Arians about his ankle injury. In one of the messages, Brown sends Arians a photo of him receiving treatment on his ankle, saying “I wanna win…wanna be there if I wake up tomorrow (and) feel better.”
On Wednesday, Brown alleged the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired him after he refused to play while injured. The Bucs head coach says they spoke before Brown stormed off on Sunday, but that he wasn’t aware of an injury. Arians says, “At no point in time, during that game did he ever ask the trainer or doctor about his ankle. That’s the protocol. You go through protocols during games. I was never notified of it.”
The Buccaneers then said Thursday that they knew the wide receiver had a recent ankle injury, but disputed Brown’s claim of pressuring him to play. The team added Brown was cleared to play Sunday.
