Two Suspects In Custody For The Murder Of A 25-Year-Old Lenoir Man

A suspect wanted in connection to the homicide of a Caldwell County man was arrested Wednesday, according to police.

According to a news release, Isaac Dixon was taken into custody by the Burke County Sheriff’s Office around 6 p.m. The suspect was located on Grover Beaver Street in Morganton.

Dixon was located by officials after receiving information from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office stating that he maybe at the Morganton home.

Dixon was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center without bond, according to police.

LENOIR, N.C. — Police say one suspect has been arrested and another remains at large in connection to the murder of a Caldwell County man found shot to death inside a car Tuesday evening.

Around 6:45 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a man not breathing in a purple and blue Subaru at the intersection of Old North Road and Collettsville Road.

At the scene, deputies located 25-year-old Jose Martinez Aguilera dead inside the car.

Initial investigation reveals that the shooting occurred outside the home located on Quailridge Court in Lenoir, N.C.

Investigators were then able to identify two suspects, 22-year-olds Zachary Kersey and Isaac Dixon, and issue warrants for their arrest.

Police say the first suspect, Zachary Kersey, 22, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder.

Kersey was then placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond, according to a news release.

Police are still searching for the second suspect, Isaac Dixon, 22, wanted for one count of Murder in connection to this crime.
