Charlotte Woman Found Dead In Tennessee Cabin

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An investigation has been opened after a Charlotte woman was found shot to death in a Tennessee cabin Monday morning.

Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals says officers responded to the cabin on Smoky Ridge Way around 8:30 a.m., after being notified there was a woman inside suffering from a gunshot wound.

At the scene, officers found a woman dead inside the cabin and a man outside on the ground.

Police say the man, later identified as Daekwon Dodd, 26, of Charlotte, was taken to a local hospital after jumping from the 3rd story balcony of the same cabin.

He remains in serious condition, according to a news release.

Police say the woman found dead at the scene has been identified as Tatina Buddington, 28, of Charlotte.

This incident is being investigated by Sevier County Sheriff’s Detectives, agents from the T.B. I. and the Sevier Co. Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
