S.C. Troopers: 1 Killed In 4-Vehicle York County Collision Involving Box Truck

YORK CO., S.C. — Troopers are investigating after one person was killed in a four-vehicle crash that closed part of I-77 in York County Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. on I-77 South at the 89 mile marker.

Troopers say all four vehicles were traveling south on I-77 when the first vehicle, a 2007 Kia Coronado, slowed for traffic and was hit by a box truck driven by Kevin Brazzell, 42.

The first car then crashed into the two other vehicles, a 2021 Chevrolet Utility Van driven by Michael Garvin, 29, and a 2005 BMW Sedan driven by Moura Maseha, 29.

Troopers say the driver in the first car died from their injuries at the scene.

Their identify has not yet been revealed.

No other drivers or passengers were injured in the crash, according to a news release.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
