CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Over 1,200 flights to and from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport have been cancelled on Sunday due to a winter storm, according to FlightAware.
Officials say in total there has been 1,220 cancellations in and out of Charlotte.
Airport crews have been actively working since Saturday night to de-ice planes and get runways clear.

Officials say Charlotte Douglas International remains open Sunday, even though a majority of flights have been cancelled for the day.
