The Crime Stoppers unit is offering $20,000 for information leading to an arrest in an October 2021 south Charlotte murder investigation.

The murder investigation was sparked on the night of Oct. 9 when Edy Alvarado was located with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

According to a news release, the Crime Stoppers unit received a private donation of $20,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are investigating a shooting in south Charlotte that left one man dead Saturday night.

Officers responded to a deadly weapon call for service shortly before 11 p.m. on Southern Loop Boulevard.

At the scene, officers located a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The man, later identified as 46-year-old Edy Alvarado, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
