Late Day/Evening Snow Followed By Cold & Ice

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of the area until Saturday morning at 7.

 

Winter Weather Advisory issued for parts of the area south/east of I-85 until Saturday morning

Friday will be very cloudy, cold and damp. Temps will hover around freezing all day. Light snow is likely to develop this afternoon and evening. Accumulation of up to 2″ is possible across the metro but the larger totals will be in areas furthest south and east of I-85. Extremely cold air builds in behind tonight with temperatures dropping into the teens. That will set us up for icy roads on Saturday morning. We’ll be back to dry sunny weather for the weekend with temps near 40 Saturday and near 50 on Sunday.

Friday: Cloudy. Late afternoon snow possible. High: 32. Wind: NNE 9-11, Gusts to 20.

Friday night: Snow showers. Total accumulations ranging from a dusting to 2″. Low: 18. Wind NNE 9.

Saturday: Sunny. Icy AM. High: 41.

Sunday: Sunny. Warmer. High: 48.

Monday:     Sunny. High: 52.
