Police: 2 Men Charged With Murder In Fatal Rock Hill Shooting

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police have charged both a 19-year-old man and 21-year-old man with murder following a fatal shooting at a Rock Hill apartment complex Saturday night.

Officers responded to The Estates apartments on Celanese Road around 11:24 p.m. in reference to shots fired.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 26-year-old victim laying in front of the apartments suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say through investigative efforts they were able to identify two suspects in this case and made arrests.

Jaelon Kelly, 21, and James Williams, 19, were both charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, conspiracy to violate S.C. drug law, and possession of marijuana for their involvement in the shooting, according to a news release.

Kelly and Williams are scheduled to have a bond hearing in court on January 24th.

Police say two juvenile girls were also charged with conspiracy to violate S.C. drug law in this case.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
