NORTH CAROLINA — Remaining snow and ice have caused some schools to delay, cancel, or move classes online on Monday, January 24th. For the latest weather, click HERE.
Anson County Schools will be closed. Staff will have an optional three-hour work day.
Stanly County Schools will be on a two-hour delay.
Watauga County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students and staff. Buses will also travel limited routes, and the public is asked to move vehicles that are in bus turnarounds.
Ashe County Schools will move classes online. They hope to be back in person on Tuesday, the 25th.
Avery County Schools will also operate on a two-hour delay, and staff will arrive at 9 a.m. Due to the condition of the roads, Avery County School buses will not travel on gravel roads or any of the below:

- Teen Valley Ranch Rd.
- Mollie’s Branch Rd.
- Jerry’s Creek Rd.
- Big Horse Creek Rd.
- Stover Ridge Rd.
- Barney Rd.
- Cole Hollow Rd.
- Stamey Branch Rd.
