American Cuts 835 Monthly Flights At Charlotte-Douglas International Airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — American recently adjusted their March 2022 schedule at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, reducing total monthly departures by 835 flights, or approximately 27 flights per day.

American says they have worked to ensure any impacts are minimal, and have proactively contacted affected customers to provide alternate travel options that most closely align with their original travel itinerary.

In March, American will operate an average of 5,800 peak daily departures—offering more daily flights than any other U.S. network carrier. From CLT, American is currently scheduled to operate 18,340 total flights in March, or approximately 592 daily departures (after proactive schedule adjustments).

The planned systemwide schedule in March is approximately 86% of the schedule operated in 2019. For CLT, the adjusted March schedule is approximately 89% of the schedule operated in 2019.

If a new itinerary doesn’t meet a customer’s needs, American says customers are able to seek a full refund under their standard schedule change policy.
