Jury Deliberating Soon On Misdemeanor Assault Charge Against Former Rock Hill Police Officer
ROCK HILL, S.C. – A verdict could come soon in the trial of a former Rock Hill Police Officer accused of misdemeanor assault.
Jonathan Moreno returned to the witness stand on Tuesday to defend his actions during a controversial arrest from last June.
Moreno says he acted because the victim, Travis Price, was in a crime scene and could be a danger to officers.
But prosecutors say Moreno also didn’t ask any questions before confronting Price at the scene of a traffic stop involving Price’s brother.
Moreno is charged with third-degree assault and battery.
