Former Panthers Player Captain Munnerlyn Arrested on Assault Charges

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former Carolina Panthers player is facing charges accused of assaulting a woman.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Captain Munnerlyn in Lincoln County on January 10.

He’s charged with assault by strangulation and assault on a female.

Authorities say the attack happened January 3 near the Music Factory and left visible signs of injuries.

Munnerlyn played cornerback for the Panthers from 2009 to 2013 and from 2017 to 2019.
