The Big Game Is Projected To Rack In Massive Amounts Of Viewers, Will You Be Watching?
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This year’s big game could have the biggest audience yet.
Data analytics firm PredictHQ estimates the big game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams will attract 117 million viewers.
It comes after ratings took a big hit last year with only 96 million viewers.
That’s the lowest audience since 2007.
Research from Maru Group shows that 56 percent of U.S. adults plan to watch this year’s game.
That’s five percentage points higher than those who reported watching last year.
Variety reports multiple factors could lead to this surge in audience.
The first momentum after two weeks of postseason games with high viewership.
The second factor is hope during the pandemic.
Last year fewer people watched due to the pandemic blues but that’s no longer the case.
The draw of the teams involved in the game will also make more people tune in.
Some people are interested in watching the underdog story of the Bengals coming back from being one of the worst teams in the league just two years ago.
The big game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles.
