Police Charge 2 With Murder In Albemarle Homicide

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Police have charged a man and woman with first degree murder in the fatal shooting death of 42-year-old David Perry of Albemarle.

Both 53-year-old Watson Brooks and 51-year-old Sabrina Wallace were identified as suspects and taken into custody during a traffic stop for their involvement in the following incident.

On February 12th at 5:05 p.m., deputies from the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Singlewood Road in Albemarle in reference to a shooting at that location.

Responding officers found 42-year-old David Perry dead at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.

From information and evidence obtained, investigators were able to get warrants for first degree murder on Brooks and Wallace.

Police say Brooks and Wallace are currently being held without bond in the Stanly County Ralph McSwain Detention Center and have initial court appearances on February 21st.
