CHESTERFIELD, S.C. — A serious crash involving a pedestrian and a car in Chesterfield County turned deadly after the pedestrian died from their injuries on Valentine’s Day, according to troopers.
Police say the collision occurred on February 12th around 5:30 p.m. on Guess Road.
The driver of a 2001 Dodge, Jimmy Catoe, 49, was heading west on Guess Road when he struck a pedestrian that ran into the roadway.
Troopers say the pedestrian was running south on private property before entering the roadway.
Catoe and his three other passengers were not injured during this incident, according to a news release.
On February 14th, troopers say the pedestrian died due to injuries they received in the crash.
The investigation into this collision is active and ongoing.
