Mecklenburg County Will Drop Mask Mandate On Feb. 26: Are You Ready?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As more states ease COVID-19 protocols, the Centers for Disease Control says new federal guidance could be coming “soon.” Agency director Dr. Rochelle Walensky made those comments Wednesday during a White House coronavirus task force briefing. While she didn’t commit to a timeline, she did say decisions will be made not just based on the current case counts, but also on the burden on hospitals.

A growing number of states have eased mask mandates in recent weeks. While acknowledging Americans want to return to some sense of normalcy, Walensky says masking will continue to be important. “We all share the same goal to get to a point where COVID-19 is no longer disrupting our daily lives a time when it won’t be a constant crisis,” she says.

Our question of the night: is it time to remove masks?
