HICKORY, N.C. — Officials have deemed a mobile home in Hickory a total loss after a fire Saturday morning.
Hickory firefighters were dispatched at 10:58 a.m. to a possible structure fire on 2nd Avenue SW, in the area of the city water tower, after multiple 911 callers confirmed seeing a working fire and smoke from several blocks away.
At the scene, firefighters reported seeing a fully-involved mobile home fire.
Personnel responded with three engines, one ladder, one heavy rescue and two battalion chiefs.
Investigators say no occupants of the home were injured.
One firefighter did suffer minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Officials say the fire was brought under control by 11:31 a.m.
Fire investigators have determined the cause of the fire to be an electrical issue.
Catawba County EMS and Hickory Police also responded to the scene.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
