LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A 63-year-old Lincolnton man has been arrested for the accused sexual assault of a child, according to deputies.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received information on Nov. 1 regarding the sexual assault of a child from Lincoln County Department of Social Services, sparking an investigation.
During the investigation, the juvenile girl was interviewed at the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center where she discussed the abuse. According to a news release, the victim was familiar with the suspect.
Deputies arrested Billy Martin Jr. on Friday as a suspect in the case.
Martin was charged with first degree statutory sex offense, indecent liberties with a child and felony child abuse with a sex act, according to authorities.
