Charlotte-Area Businesses Could Feel Impact From Situation In Ukraine
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-area businesses could also feel the impact from what’s happening in Ukraine.
The country is a major exporter of metal, and the price of raw materials could rise if there’s a prolonged conflict.
Damon Lusk’s company Race City Steel, distributes steel, aluminum, and other metals.
His job is the hardest when prices swing up and down.
Right now, the price of steel is down, but instability in Ukraine could cause it to surge again.
“I’d just like to see some consistency. Where you feel like you can buy, you can plan for the future,” Lusk says.
Experts say what’s happening in Ukraine could also impact what you pay at the gas pump, slow economic growth, and lead to a downturn in the stock market.
