GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gastonia Police Department is conducting a death investigation after human remains were found Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the human remains were located near Catawba Creek behind Ferguson Park.
Investigators are working with the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the deceased’s identity and cause of death.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
