CMPD: Two Suspects Wanted For West Charlotte Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, And Sexual Assault Of Teen

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects accused of armed robbery, kidnapping, and sexual assault in west Charlotte.

According to police, three victims were walking on Millerton Avenue, off of West Morehead Street, Saturday around 4 a.m. when a red Acura stopped, and one of the occupants armed with a handgun approached the victims. All three victims were robbed at gunpoint of their personal belongings.

One of the victims, a 17-year-old girl, was then forced into the vehicle at gunpoint by two unknown suspects, who drove away from the location.

The other two victims were able to seek assistance from Charlotte-Mecklenburg police after calling 911. Officers worked to quickly locate the victim in the active kidnapping case.

The victim was released from the suspects and Davidson County deputies were able to locate her nearby. The suspects fled the area.

The victim was returned to Charlotte and interviewed by CMPD Sexual Assault Detectives. According to authorities, the victim informed officers that a suspect fondled her during the drive from Charlotte to Davidson County while making verbal threats to harm her.

Police were able to obtain video surveillance of the suspect vehicle, which is currently listed as stolen in Monroe. The suspect vehicle is a 2008 red Acura TSX, possibly with North Carolina registration JAB-3150. Both suspects are described as Hispanic men, one with a black and gold jacket and black hat; and the other with a green jacket.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
