Discussion

Best Chance at Widespread Rain Comes Today
Today will bring the heaviest rain across the area. A cold front is bringing steady rain north of I-40 this morning. Showers will become widespread through the morning, before tapering off early afternoon. Patchy fog early, with temps reaching the low 70s this afternoon. If you have outdoor activities late this afternoon, you’ll only have to worry about the grass being wet. The front will weaken and stall south of the area tonight.
Scattered Showers, Up & Down Temps to End the Week
Cooler Thursday as an inversion layer locks the clouds in place. Temps will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s. Pulses of energy will glide along the boundary and bring isolated to widely scattered showers to the region. A warm front will lift across the region by the end of the week with temps warming into the mid-70s Friday. A stronger cold front will pass through Friday bringing isolated rumbles of thunder.
Weekend into Early Next Week
The weekend will be cooler with highs only reaching the mid-50s. We’ll get a break from the rain through late Saturday before another cold front brings rain to the region. Wintry precip will be possible across the mountains Sunday, but not expecting much more than a light accumulation if anything. Drying out next week with sunny skies and cooler temps in the low 50s.
