Boys & Girls Club Of Cabarrus County To Host First In-Person Pancake Day Fundraiser In 3 Years

CONCORD, N.C. — The Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County is bringing its biggest fundraising event of the year, Pancake Day, back in-person for the first time in three years.

On Thursday, March 17th from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Club will welcome the public to its newly expanded facility with the intent to serve pancakes and sausages to over 5,000 attendees.

Tickets are $9 per person (children under 4 free), and can be purchased online here or at the door the day of the event.

Valerie Melton, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County says “This event is the Club’s largest fundraiser, and not being able to have it in-person the last two years has definitely impacted our bottom line. We hope this year will be our biggest year yet, and we can’t wait to host the community and show off our Club.”

Originated by the Kiwanis Club in 1957, officials say Pancake Day is one of Concord’s biggest social events of the year.

Officials say for over 65 years, dedicated Board members, staff, and volunteers have spent the third Thursday in March cooking pancakes and sausages for the community.

Coffee, milk, Cheerwine, and Sun Drop are also included in the long-standing Concord tradition, according to a news release.

Officials say this year’s event is presented by Shoe Show, Inc. and other generous sponsors.

Pancake Day typically brings in over $95,000 for the Boys & Girls Club.

These funds help provide children and families with affordable programs and opportunities that will change their lives and shape their futures.
