Detectives Charge Lincolnton Man With Sexual Assault Of A Child

LINCOLNTON, N.C. –A 25-year-old Lincolnton man has been charged with two felony counts of indecent liberties with a child, according to police.

Detectives say Kendrick Prather, who is homeless, was arrested for child sexual assault on February 21st and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.

In September of 2021, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office first received a report of a sexual assault involving two victims.

The case was assigned to Sheriff’s Detective J. Talbot who began the investigation.

Police say the two juveniles were interviewed at the Lincoln County Child Advocacy, where they both disclosed the incidents that occurred.

The juveniles say they knew the suspect.

Detectives say as the investigation continued, it was determined there was sufficient evidence to move forward with the charges against Prather.
