Police Investigate Deadly Shooting At Salisbury Mexican Restaurant

SALISBURY, N.C. — Detectives have opened a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed outside a Mexican restaurant in Salisbury Thursday night.

Shots were heard just before 9 p.m.

Police say the shooting occurred in the parking lot of El Patron Mexican Grill & Cantina in a strip shopping center on Freeland Drive, off of South Arlington Street.

According to police, 35-year-old Michael Connor Jr. was fatally shot at the scene.

Police say they believe the shooting suspect has fled the area.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
